Lake Malawi

Lake Malawi

An hour’s drive south of Lilongwe, on the M1, is Dedza Mountain. In Dedza itself, the famed Dedza pottery creates and exports its wares worldwide. This is their only viewing house. On your way, there are unimpeded views from the mountains here across Lake Malawi to the East, and far into Mozambique to the West. The pleasant climate and reliable rainfall means the area supplies much of Lilongwe’s fruit and vegetables.

Minutes from here you can visit Africa’s third largest lake to sample the fresh waters of Lake Malawi at Sunbird Livingstonia Beach.
